Disclosure of Pulping Principle of Double Helical Refiner in Paper Making Equipment

The twin screw pulp refiner originates from the twin screw extruder used in the plastic and food industries. It is a clean pulping equipment with high yield, multi-function and energy-saving developed by using the principles of plastic extrusion engineering and modern pulping theory.

Whether grinding wood pulp or disc mill mechanical pulping, the principle of traditional mechanical pulping is that the fiber wall is fatigued by repeated compression/decompression, and then the fibers are separated. Most of the energy released during decompression is converted into heat.

Because energy is transmitted to fibers in a high-frequency-low-strength way, the dissociation of fibers is quite low. A large amount of energy is used to heat water and then turn it into steam. The actual energy consumption during pulping is far greater than the effective energy required for the treatment of fibers to a certain extent. The energy required to complete the refining process itself is only 3-5% of the mechanical energy consumed in the refining process.

In order to improve the quality of pulp, we hope that the separation of fibers is not in the intercellular layer but in the S1-S2 layer, that is to say, it produces fine fibrosis on the fibre wall, but the energy consumption is very large during the deformation process before the breakdown of the fibre wall.
